Dr. Arhonda Johnson - Veterinarian, Founder

Dr. Arhonda Johnson, a Chicago, Illinois native, graduated from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.

She completed a one-year internship there in small animal medicine and surgery and immediately went into private practice in Florida. After two years of practicing as a generalist and being very active in local veterinary organizations and veterinary boards, Dr. Johnson accepted a second internship in San Antonio, Texas. There she successfully completed an internal medicine internship that rotated through radiology and ophthalmology.

In 2006, Dr. Johnson made Atlanta, Georgia her home. While here she worked in private practice, as an emergency veterinarian, in high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter facilities, and as a relief doctor. Seeing a need for better customer service, quality care, and a desire to establish a family atmosphere, The Ark Animal Hospital was born. Here, Dr. Johnson dedicates her time to perfecting her craft and serving the community she resides in.

Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys traveling, bodybuilding, and artistry of many sorts. She finds the most pleasure and spending time with her family, pets, and friends as well as mentoring our youth.
